Schiphol and central Amsterdam
Schiphol Airport Massage, between two flights
You have a boarding pass for tomorrow, a room near the runway for tonight or for the next few hours, and a body that has stopped agreeing with any clock. A Schiphol airport massage is arranged around the flight you still have to catch: the journey time, the length and the whole figure are agreed in writing before anything is fixed.

Hours you already hold
A layover is a block of time you have paid for twice over and cannot spend on anything useful.
What is arranged here sits inside that block. One therapist from the roster travels out with warm oil and clean linen to the room you are holding, whether that room is beside a runway or halfway down a canal, and the session runs where you already are. There is nothing to find, nothing to queue for and no second journey at the end of it.
Rooms at Schiphol, Schiphol-Rijk and Schiphol-Oost are arranged rather than taken on the hour, because the run out and the run back cost real minutes in either direction. Send the hotel area and the window you are free in, and a journey time comes back to you in writing before anything is fixed. An address in central Amsterdam is simpler: once a booking is confirmed, forty to sixty minutes is the usual distance between the last message and a knock at the door.
Every technique on the list is given in the room, at whatever length you reserved, and a long wait between flights takes the same figures as the middle of an ordinary evening. Whoever is in the room is twenty-one or over, guest and therapist alike, and a photo document may be asked for at the door.
Working back from boarding
Start at the gate and count in reverse, because that is the only clock in the building that is not negotiable.
Take the hour you have to be airside, subtract the walk from the room to the terminal and whatever the queues have been doing that morning, then subtract the length you want. Whatever is left is the latest hour worth asking for, and a first booking on a layover is easier if you do that arithmetic before you write rather than during the reply.
An hour fits a short stop between two flights. Two hours fit the evening that has already turned into a stay. Three hours fit the westbound waits where sleep has stopped arriving on its own and the body needs longer than a single circuit to put itself down.
A written enquiry is usually answered inside ten minutes at any point in the night, and the answer carries a name, a length and one figure in euro. Tax sits inside that figure, and nothing is added later for the district, the hour or the ground covered. Half of the total confirms a booking made more than a day ahead, every overnight, every booking with two therapists and every room out by the airport; whatever remains is settled at the start of the visit, in cash in whichever currency you happen to be carrying, by card or in crypto, and the booking terms put all of it in plainer language. If the plan moves, say so more than twenty-four hours ahead: a booking may be moved once, to a date inside the following fortnight.

- Your first Schiphol Airport massage on a layover, from the gate to the doorNobody books a first session between two flights with much confidence. This guide walks through the whole sequence in the order it actually happens, so that the one thing left to think about in the room is the session itself.
- Leaving the transit area at Schiphol for a massage: passports, bags and the way back inA layover session depends on a question the airline answers before the house ever does: can you walk out of the terminal at all. This guide works through passports, luggage, queues and the return trip, so the answer is clear before anything is booked.
- Sleep, food, a shower and a session: putting a Schiphol layover in the right orderTravellers with a room and eight hours in hand tend to spend them in the wrong order and leave feeling worse than when they landed. The sequence matters more than the length, and this guide sets out which sequence suits which arrival.
- Booking a Schiphol layover massage before you board the first flightSome travellers want the layover settled before they leave home. That works well, with a few adjustments for time zones and delays, and this guide explains how an advance booking is set up, held and moved when the flight does what flights do.
